Joe Biden on WFTV in Florida
Old Joe is too accustomed to being interviewed by CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC and CBS ... they ask all those "softball" questions.
This interview proves what a liar Mr. Biden really is! He cannot handle the "tuff" questions. Can you imagine what CNN, NBC, etc. would have done if Sarah Palin had responded to a question with "Are you joking" ....
Barack Obama’s campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported .
During a satellite video Thursday, WFTV’s Barbara West quoted Karl Marx and asked Biden how Obama’s comment to “Joe the Plumber,” about spreading the wealth wasn’t being Marxist.
“Are you joking?,” Biden asked.
West replied, “No.”
Later in the interview West questioned Biden about his comments that if Obama wins the election next month, he would be tested early on as president and wanted to know if Biden was implying America was no longer the world’s leading power.
“I don’t know who’s writing your questions,” Biden asked her.
The Obama camp then killed a WFTV interview with Biden’s wife Jill

Northern Flicker (yellow shafted) - Colaptes auratus
"Although it can climb up the trunks of trees and hammer on wood like other woodpeckers, the Northern Flicker prefers to find food on the ground. Ants are its favorite food, and the flicker digs in the dirt to find them. It uses its long barbed tongue to lap up the ants."
I've waited a long time to get a decent shot of the Flicker. The female landed on a branch right in front of me. If I would have been an inch closer, I wouldn't have got the shot with the lens that I was using (Canon 400mm) The male landed on a pole right in front of my house :o)

Gray Catbird & Brown Thrasher
I heard this little Catbird “meowing” across the road yesterday morning so I went over and looked for him. He wouldn’t come out of his dark hiding place and I didn’t want to use the flash and scare him off. Photos are kinda dark but you can still see what he looks like.

This Brown Thrasher was in the Maple tree in the backyard so I had to shoot him through the window!

Farmers' Almanac says cold winter ahead
Households worried about the high cost of keeping warm this winter will draw little comfort from the Farmers' Almanac, which predicts below-average temperatures for most of the U.S.
"Numb's the word," says the 192-year-old publication, which claims an accuracy rate of 80 to 85 percent for its forecasts that are prepared two years in advance.
The almanac's 2009 edition, which goes on sale Tuesday, says at least two-thirds of the country can expect colder than average temperatures, with only the Far West and Southeast in line for near-normal readings.
"This is going to be catastrophic for millions of people," said almanac editor Peter Geiger, noting that the frigid forecast combined with high prices for heating fuel is sure to compound problems households will face in keeping warm.
The almanac predicts above-normal snowfall for the Great Lakes and Midwest, especially during January and February, and above-normal precipitation for the Southwest in December and for the Southeast in January and February. The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions should be getting an unusually wet or snowy February, the almanac said.
Most people wouldn’t like a forecast of cold snowy weather but I would love it! I’m a cold weather person. So now I’m sitting here dreaming of snow, ice and freezing temps. Here is an image from Feb. 12, 2008 …. everything was encased in ice! The little birdies were freezing!

Baby Robin
Opened the front door to take Albie out for a walk and this guy was sitting on the porch …. good thing Albie had on a leash or this baby would have been history! I put Albie back inside and grabbed the camera to take a few quick shots ……
He finally made it across the road and was hiding in the field. If you look closely, you can see him.

2 Florida Men Will Spend a Year Prison for Killing Goose
Breaks my heart when I think of what they did!
…. these morons are getting exactly what they deserve! Except I think they should be receiving a more severe punishment.
LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Two men will spend a year behind bars for killing a goose in South Florida while a 17-year-old will serve his time under house arrest.
Twenty-year-old Christopher Mullan, 18-year-old Anthony Karney and a 17-year-old were sentenced Friday. They pleaded guilty to felony cruelty to animals and will also serve three years' probation.
The judge required that they earn high school diplomas during their time, perform community service working with animals and undergo psychiatric evaluations.
The goose, Lily, was killed in December. Authorities say the three defendants chased the goose around a Lake Worth yard and took turns swinging an aluminum bat at her.
A tip led to their arrests in March. The three apologized in court.

A True Redneck
We have enjoyed the redneck jokes for years. It's time to take a reflective look at the core beliefs of a culture that values home, 
family, country and God. If I had to stand before a dozen terrorists who threaten my life, I'd choose a half dozen or so rednecks to back me up. Tire irons, squirrel guns and grit -- that's what rednecks are made of. I hope I know several of those. If you feel the same, pass this on to your redneck friends. Ya'll know who ya'll are.

Spike Lee … his NOBAMA prediction
His predictions are foolish, unintelligent and stupid. Wait … there is one word that describes him … asinine. However, in the case of Spike Lee, the spelling should be “ASSinine”
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Spike Lee says the Rev. Jesse Jackson's crudely phrased criticism of Barack Obama won't affect the Democrat's campaign, which the filmmaker expects to succeed at bringing ``seismic'' change to the world.
``I don't think his (Jackson's) comments help anybody. It's just unfortunate,'' Lee said after taking part in a Television Critics Association panel.
Lee predicted Obama would be elected in November.
``When that happens, it will change everything. ... You'll have to measure time by `Before Obama' and `After Obama,''' Lee said during the panel. ``It's an exciting time to be alive now.''
The presidency of the first African-American will ripple throughout arts, sports and more, said Lee, whose films include ``Malclom X'' and ``Do the Right Thing.''
``Everything's going to be affected by this seismic change in the universe,'' he said.
