Albie was up early and outside looking for a place to "pee". It wasn't very cold so I didn't put his sweater on him. He will be eternally grateful for that ..... he hates his sweaters!

AVG

I have been using AVG free for a long time and now updates will not download. Seems like everyone is having the same problem. They (Grisoft) say that the server is overloaded ... they are doing nothing to remedy the problem. But, they also say if you BUY the paid version you will have access to faster servers. HUH What kind of ploy is this anyway. I have recommended this free anti virus program to many friends .... NEVER AGAIN! I dumped the old bloated NORTON program for AVG. The new computer had McAfee loaded on it with a 15 month paid supscription. I almost dumped it for AVG but then decided against it.

AVG get your act together. Keep denying people the ability to download critical updates and you will have no business at all. No way in hell am I going to buy a program from Grisoft when their demo product has quit functioning completely.

This little Mockingbird has taken up residence at my house. She loves the peanut butter suet that I make for the birds.

The sun is shining brightly and it is suppose to be in the 50's today! I will have to get out and take some shots of my little birds.

Snow in Providence

My son lives in Providence, RI. Seems as though they are snowed in!! That means no work and no school for him. He didn't seem to upset about it though .. ha I haven't heard from him this morning so I hope they still have electricity. Hopefully he will be sending me some photos of the "Blizzard of 2005".

I downloaded the new Picasa today and really like it. Very surprised at all of the editing options in the program. Let me put it this way .. "IT ROCKS" for being FREE!!! Google never ceases to amaze me. You should give it a try. The thing I like about it is how it works in conjunction with HELLO ... it is so easy to upload a photo (with captions) to your Blogger account and publish it.

A daily visitor to the suet feeders is this male Downy Woodpecker.

DELL

I just got a new DELL!!!! Kick-ass system too. I "wuv" it. I have been on it non-stop since it was delivered on 01-04-05. Speakers really rock. The 19" FP monitor is pretty cool also. But, I actually prefer my 19" Sony Trinitron CRT for editing photos. I have two of them and will continue to use them. The FP is great for saving space tho. It has decent quality and for just surfing the internet, etc., it is fine. But not for any serious graphic editing.

UPDATE: 01/18/05 I have been using the new FP monitor for editing photos and I am liking it better all the time. However, I now realize I should have ordered the Ultra Sharp monitor. This one will just have to do cuz I am not paying an extra $300 to get the Ultra Sharp!
